Victor Ullmann, the highly respected Jewish Austro-Hungarian composer, who was deported in 1942 to Theresienstadt camp and two years later was murdered in the concentration camp Auschwitz, wrote this piano concerto, a rarely performed work - in 1939, as the Nazis marched into his town Prague. I'm honored to bring this piece to life with the Bellingham Symphony and their music director Maestro Yaniv Attar. This concert will also mark the west coast premiere of this work.
